The Hematology department of Jiangsu Province Hospital was founded in 1936. Through years' competitions and striving efforts, it is now ranking No.2 in Jiangsu Province and No.12 over the country among the best hematology centers, gaining clinical reputation among patients and also numerous scientific research achievement. This year in July and August, an American myeloma patient chose to do CAR-T clinical trial in our department, not to mention patients from all over the country. There are five wards with 171 beds in our department. Over 100 staff including doctors, nurses, technicians, and researchers are working together, among which 14 have PhD degree and 38 have Master degree.
Professor Jianyong Li
Prof.Li is the director of hematology department, Jiangsu Province Hospital and chief of hematological malignancies group of China anti-cancer association.He has host more than 30 various kinds of funding researches and has published more than 600 papers and 8 book. He was commended eight provincial science and technology progress awards, special government allowances, middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution, "333 project"researcher and national advanced individual in medical health system.
Prof. Li graduated from Beijing Medical University in 1988. He gained both master and doctoral degree in Suzhou Medical College. Prof. Li did his post-doctoral research in Nantes University France, 1997-1998. During 2007 to 2008 he went to Ulm university of Germany for further study in chronic lymphocytic leukemia clinical research. From 2004, Prof.Li has been working in Jiangsu Province Hospital as department director.
Prof.Li is specialized in Lymphoma and CLL.

Hematology department includes five wards and a laboratory. Five wards are lyphoma ward, leukemia ward, geriatric hematology ward, bone marrow failure disease ward and myeloma ward. Blood disease laboratory includes cell morphology unit, flow cytometry unit, cytogenetics unit, molecular biology unit, cell biology unit, bleeding laboratory and stem cell laboratory, with Zeiss automatic chromosome scanning platform and karyotyping system, flow cytometry, Illumina Miseq sequencer, COBE Spectra, COMTEC blood cell separator, advanced PCR amplification and fluorescence microscopy and its chromosomes, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) software Analysis system and other advanced equipments.
Comprehensive use of high-throughput molecular biology techniques such as cell morphology/cytochemistry, multi-parameter flow cytometry, chromosome karyotyping, molecular genetics, conventional molecular biology and the latest second-generation sequencing combined with clinical accurate diagnosis of blood diseases , classification, prognosis assessment, disease monitoring, we manage patients according to the clinical characteristics of patients with standardized, individualized, precise treatment strategy. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other lymphoid tumors are the developing focus of development. We also pay great attention to geriatric hematology and bone marrow failure diseases.

Every year, our department send out doctors and researchers abroad. Over 30 doctors had the experienced to participate the international meeting. 13 doctors and researchers were sent to further study and work in best institutions like MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic, University of Massachusetts and Georgia State University.
