Dept. of Infectious Disease of Jiangsu Province Hospital which is also known as the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University (originally Dept. of Infectious Disease) was established in 1954, the whole department enjoyed certain popularity in China and Eastern China by the effort of all staff under the leadership of famous tropical medical scientist, Professor Xu Benqian, Chen Zhongying, Jia Fuzhong, Wang Mingxiu, Tang Baoyuan, Huang Zuhu, Li Jun and all previous chief physicians, ranking the fifth in the 2016 Eastern China Specialty Reputation Rank List.
This department is equipped with more than 70 beds, receiving 40 thousand person-time visiting volume at Outpatient and annual inpatients of 2800 person-time. There are 44 medical staff at service, 19 persons holding doctorate or master degree, in which 6 were with senior title, 8 deputy senior title, and 1 doctoral tutor and 7 master tutors. For now the department has standing committee members of Society of Infectious Diseases, Chinese Medical Association (CMA), Chinese Society of Hepatology, CMA, committee members of Sub-society of Infectious Disease, Chinese Society for Immunology (CSI), chairman of Sub-society of Infectious Disease, Jiangsu Medical Association, director-designate member of Jiangsu Sub-society of Tropical Disease and Parasitology and vice chairman of Society of Hepatopathy, Jiangsu Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine, vice chairman of Jiangsu Sub-society of Hepatopathy, Jiangsu Association of Chinese Medicine and another 20+ members of national, provincial and municipal professional academic communities.
Our department has undertaken more than 20 subprojects of “Prevention and Treatment of Major Infectious Diseases” , “National Science and Technology Major Project”, provincial natural science funds and provincial level medical study project and tackling critical points. We have participated in 20+ international and national multi-center clinical drug studies. For the research achievements, we have published more than 50 SCI journal articles, over 20 Chinese journal articles and published over 10 works. We also won one Second Prize of provincial scientific and technological advancement, three First Prizes and five Second Prizes of Jiangsu Department of Health New Technology Introduction and obtained 17 national invention and utility patents in total.
In the rescue and treatment of SARS, H5N1 avian influenza, new H1N1 influenza A, infection with new bunyavirus and other newly infectious disease, we have fully played the integrated treatment performance of our department, to complete the treatment of critically ill patients with distinction.

She has worked in our hospital since 1982 and now holds a member of Chinese Sub-society of Infectious Disease, CMA, Chinese Sub-society of Hepatology, CMA, Sub-society of Infectious Disease, CSI, chairman of Sub-society of Infectious Disease, Jiangsu Medical Association, vice chairman of Society of Hepatopathy, Jiangsu Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine and Jiangsu Sub-society of Hepatopathy, Jiangsu Association of Chinese Medicine and the like.
Her mainly studied pathogenesis of viral hepatitis and basis and clinic of immunotherapy. She visited Fairfield Hospital in Australia in 1993 and Miami University Miller School in 2006 for advanced study for one year respectively and undertook 3 subprojects of the national Eleventh Five-Year and Twelfth Five-Year major projects, directed 2 national natural science fund projects and other 11 provincial level topics. She has published over 60 papers in Chinese and foreign journals and won ten prizes of provincial award for scientific and technological advancement and new medical technology introduction and possessed four national patents. He edited ten professional books as chief editor and associate editor.
