The Clinical Nutrition Department of Jiangsu Province Hospital was founded in 1981. The department opened specialist out-patient clinics in 1983, which was the first clinic for Clinical Nutrition in Jiangsu province. In 2010, Jiangsu Province Medical Quality Control Center of Clinical Nutrition Division was founded in this department.
The department currently employs 15 professionals, among which 2 are Chief Physician, 3 are Associate Chief Physician, 1 are doctoral supervisors, 2 have doctoral degrees and 5 have master's degrees.

Dr. Ma is working as the Current Director of Clinical Nutrition Department, Jiangsu Province Hospital, Nanjing, China. He is the member of Standing Committee of Obesity Management in Wu Jieping Medical Foundation, the committee of Nutrition and Food Security Division in Gerontological Society of China, and the editor of Journal of Medical Postgraduates as well.
Dr. Ma used to be the member of American Diabetes Association and the vice director of the Weight Management, Jiangsu Province Hospital. He has attended to the Endocrinology & Metabolism Centre at Royal Prince Alfred in Australia and the Diabetes Centre in Queen Mary Hospital of Hong Kong for advanced education. There are over 200 papers and 8 academic books compiled and published by him. His academic achievements made him obtained a number of awards and huge reputation, such as the third prize of Advanced Science and Technology Award of Jiangsu Province.
Dr. Ma is specialized in the weight management among juvenile, the early diagnosis of thyroid malignant tumor, and the nutrition therapy for sarcopenia.

What is Nutrition?
The Clinical Nutrition Department provides inpatient and outpatient nutrition care. Clinical nutritionist and Dietetic Technician provides nutrition therapy for malnutrition or overnutrition patients. Nutritional evaluation is carried out for the patients in order to provide evidence for formulating individual program. Clinical nutritionist create therapy plans that consider the unique condition and objectives of each patient. Dietetic Technician work closely with nutritionist to develop a treatment plan tailored for each patient.
The Clinical Nutrition Department is a comprehensive clinical, research and teaching unit. Our team was actively working in medical therapy, clinical education, scientific research, quality control, and community service.
From 2014 to 2017, our department was responsible for 6 scientific research project, has published over 20 research papers, 6 books and won two national patents.
